Clara Saito was born on 01.11.1988 in Maceio, Brazil. She graduated from the School for New Dance Development (SNDO) in Amsterdam in July 2014. Her choreographic research aims toward a deconstruction of the functional body in order to find what she calls an anarchic body. This interest is meant to push the perception of herself into unknown places with the objective to give a critical look into how bodies have been shaped to accommodate capitalist society.
She presented her work in Frascati (NL), Veem Theater (NL), Arti et Amicitiae (NL), FLAM VI (NL), Galeria Vermelho (BR) and DAF (CH)
As a performer she work(s)/ed for Florentina Holzinger, Michelle Moura, Carles Casallachs, Clara Amaral and Louis Vanhavebecke.
In the Amsterdam queer scene she is also known for performing as her male alter ego, Kurt Dickriot and for founding and organizing the Black Circus, an anarcho-queer cabaret that shows you the dark side of fun and the fun side of the dark.
